I spent the past decade writing short stories and novels. My friends and family refer to me as a "writer" and though I hesitate to accept the noun, I suppose I have to accept the verb since all I do is write. The education I received in that time is nothing short of priceless. I have practiced, a lot. Some of it was great. Other parts were awful. Writing is both the most exhilarating thing I've done and the most torturous.
Writing is not a craft that comes easy to me. I've worked hard to gain some semblance of control over the swirling chaos in my brain. Even still, the act of composition is a chore especially in the second and third drafts.
During those periods, the muse checks out of the hotel room in my mind and I have to go into the room wearing rubber gloves and a face mask, using the most caustic of cleaning agents, to scrub the calamity off the walls just so they can check back in to do it all over again.
Unfortunately, there's no extra charge for the mayhem and the muse never makes a reservation. They always arrive unannounced when I'm unprepared for service.
This website is the home for all of my work. These stories that once belonged to me and languished unread on my laptop or in a notebook now belong to you, Dear Reader.
I hope they transport you to the land of entertainment and joy, and that they help you forget that the light bill is due and that the grocery trip you've been putting off still needs to happen. You gotta eat.
